i want 300hp

i have a 86 na and i want to go turbo and keep my block how much boost can i do stock and if i add a new intake manifold from a 93 pathfinder and throtle body fom a 92 240sx im so confused need help :headspin:

eh I wouldnt run more then 5 pounds on stock compression. That would put you about 215-220HP. After that your going to need to lower your compression, other wise 300HP isnt going to be reliable with stock compression under boost.

Poor Ken, Jason, etc. Too bad they'll never get to 300 reliably with stock compression under boost ;)

JAMESZ 01-12-2005 05:54 PM

With a good I/C you can run alot more boost then 5psi. Ken is on a stock NA short block making 450rwhp at just over 20psi. The compression really isn't that high on the NA block.

Redbeauty84ZX 01-12-2005 06:18 PM

Im not saying you cant do it, im just saying if it were me I wouldnt run much more then 5 pounds with out lowering my compression or running a IC.

racer69 01-13-2005 01:18 AM

I was going to put a intake manifold from a pathfinder on it for beter air flow I dont know if it increses the compresion does any on know? I was also wanting to run 6 - 12 pounds boost with a vary good ic. I can get a good turbo kit for a grand :roflmao:

Redbeauty84ZX 01-13-2005 06:20 PM

No it will not increase compression, and with a good intercooler you can run more boost, what turbo are you wanting to run?

racer69 01-13-2005 10:11 PM

my friend looked it up and its a t3 turbo witha sparco ic used kit for 1 grand

Redbeauty84ZX 01-14-2005 08:42 AM

How many miles are on the turbo????

racer69 01-14-2005 11:24 AM

its a rebult turbo thats all i know

Redbeauty84ZX 01-14-2005 02:39 PM

No, he didn't.
About that "turbo kit", you might want to make sure that is a 1984-1987 z31 turbo, especially if you plan to install it yourself. Otherwise you're going to need some good fab skills. Might be better to get a z31 turbo parts car and take what you need from it. Or just sell your car and buy a turbo z31. The Pathy intake is a good idea but that's a project and you'll need some fab skills for that too. It won't increase your compression.

racer69 01-14-2005 11:29 PM

oh i got fab skill and if i cant do it my buds at the body shop will for free so no problem
