Digital speed sensor

Well, I got my dash parts in for my conversion. According to XenonZ31.com, the ECU pinouts dont change. my question is this: Where do I splice the signal wire from the speed sensor in? Do I splice going to the ecu or into the harness for the cluster itself? Which pin and is there a good pic of the connectors and wires?

Other than that, I'm all set for pulling my dash out this weekend and doing the transplant.

EDIT: I think I may, keyword may, have found the connection. Pin 15 on the cluster's white connector seems to be the right one....I need to cross check this though.

Which way are you going with the swap? Digital to analog? And what year is your car?

I'm going analog to digital. I drive an 88 N/A. The dash is from an 84. The guys at the local nissan say it can be done as long as i got the parts I need. The FSM for both years show the sensor going to the same place... I hate schematics so I thought I'd ask. If nothing else, I have a friend who has an 88 digital setup and is willing to sell to me. But I need to wait til i'm back in North Dakota to get it as he won't ship.

If you don't like schematics and can't read or follow them, then you're insane to try this swap. Did you get the harness for the car's body? The dash harness? The under car harness? The engine bay harness?

I have the Dash harness, the digital dash and power supply, the speed sensor, some strange little metal thingy with two wires (I think its a compass or accelerometer?), and the two gauges for the center dash. I also have the ECU pinouts and the wiring schematics from alldata, the haynes manual, and the FSM's.

I can read schematics just fine. I just dont like them. If all else fails, I'll order in the actual 1988 dash harness and cluster/power-supply and have nissan install it.

The dash harness needs to be for whichever year cluster you got. Since you said you got the 84 cluster, I'm going to ask if you were planning on swapping in the digital center gauges as well. If so, you'll also need the body harness as well as the compass unit.

I have the center gauges, but didn't plan on installing them as I had completely forgotten about the body harness(oops).... At least not right away. My plan at the moment is to wire in a second Temp gauge and an Air/Fuel gauge in their places. But yes I have the dash harness for the 84 at least. Doesn't look like I will get to the dash this weekend, though. Ending up having to work an overnight on friday and slept all day yesterday.
