Hello fellow Z-31 fans...I'm new to the club and am enthusiatically bringing an 87 Z-31 turbo back to life in SC. I love this car and have lucked into a new friend who really knows his stuff under the hood.

I'm also working to upgrade the interior and want to change the steering wheel out for something more modern....BUT I still want the cruise control option.

Any ideas on wheel manufacturers that provide "Cruise-ready" options or tech tips for modifying the factory wiring to fit onto a newer wheel?

Any thoughts along these lines would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Steve

I take it you have a GLL model, in which case, you should swap the cruise controls to the GL version. See xenonz31.com for instructions.

Thx for the tip on how to swap "Nissan" steering wheels...the link you suggested will come in handy when I find an aftermarket product to replace my existing GL wheel.

Any suggestions for aftermarket steering wheels that will still allow the use of cruise control? Perhaps the controls will need to be relocated to a different location in the car etc.

No. No aftermarket steering wheels have cruise built into them. Too many variables to deal with. If you have your cruise (and stereo) buttons in the steering wheel, you have a GLL model. The GL models have the cruise control built onto a stalk that is attached to the headlight stalk. Instructions for performing this change are on xenonz31.com. WHICH IS WHAT I SAID THE FIRST TIME.
