84 Vg30et

Just got a 84 300zx turbo with a blown engine. What is the best engine that will bolt right up with no mods. I heard the 84 year had a turbo that wasnt as good as the later years because it was only oil cooled instead of oil and coolant cooled. are there any there diffrences with the VG30ET engines throught the years internal or bolted? Thanks for the help

84 or 85 VG30ET will bolt up with no modifications.

Best to go with what fits in mate like az zbum said, because if you want a motor to drop right in with no work required fabbing or modifying best to go the same engine.

Buy another engine Drop it in. repair the one you took out modd the **** out of it.
then drop that in that way you have something to keep you busy(engine).and something to drive.(z31)
