Quote: I have had my 1987 300zx Turbo for about 4yrs now. It had no prior problem passing the smog test(California). But this year I took it to a smog check station and it failed with flying colors. Does anyone have any suggestions to what could be the problem(s). Anything will help thank you.

Before anyone can give you any solid advice you need to let us know what areas it failed in. You should have gotten a printup report of the test. Post up your results. Based on where you failed we can tell you the most likely reason why.

Oh no, you had good ideas. I was just letting him know that if he can let us know how he failed then we can narrow it down for him instead him having to try everything possible. A tune up and what not is probably a good idea anyways if it's been a while
