Hi everyone, I am currently looking into buying a 84 300zx. Apparently the timing belt went and did damage to some of the valves and and the pulley tensioner. Is this engine toast? I can get the car for a very good price, but i dont know if it's something I can rebuild, or if I have to find a new engine for it? Let me know.. Thanks guys.

 

Most likely the damage is bent valves so a valve job or replacement heads will need to be done. Not sure what your capabilities are but it is doable. What was the mileage on the engine and condition of the car? What else is wrong?
