Valuing 1984 300zx
Hi, everyone, I am new to this forum and I'm seeking information on how to value a 1984 300zx that was given to us by my mother-in-law. We are interested in selling it but I don't really know where to start with setting a price on it. I have a couple friends who have expressed interest and I'd like to keep it fair without gouging them or selling myself short.
Any suggestions on a more-or-less ballpark figure?
The car is in very good condition, one owner, garage kept.
76k miles
Non-turbo
Cloth seats
All original equipment, no modifications
No rust
All maintenance records
I've looked around at some sites and have seen them listed at a very wide range of prices, from $5k to $30k. Can this be narrowed down somehow? Where would you begin figuring out a sale price if you were like me and didn't know much about these cars or what they are worth?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

“How much is my car worth?” is a frequently asked question on car forums. In the current economic climate, a used car's value is hard to determine.
One of the best answers that I’ve seen came from someone who replied to a similar question: “Put it on ebay with a $1 opening bid and no reserve. When the auction ends, that's what it's worth.”. The topic is titled “What’s a fair price for a 1991 TT” on the 300zxclub.com web site. Search for the topic. There are also other good answers to this question in the topic.
