Timing Problems

I'm reset'n the timing on a 87 na. I have 2 problems and need some light shed on the issue. I have the timing belt on and torqued to specs.

Problem 1:
When I turn the Z on the belt slides to the back and appears it could be rubbing against the back of the timing cover. It shows a nice perfect strip of oil on the top of the timing belt towards the back. Probably about 1/8 of an inch all the way around. Im trying to move it forward but it finds its way to slide back. As i said im trying to move it forward to keep it from rubbing in the future and possibly away from the oil seal on the oil pump. Im thinking thats why it has the light residue of oil on it.

Problem 2:
In addition its slightly leaking oil from the crank gear on the oil pump. When i turn it on and then back off, it slowly leaks out from under the crank snout. Im thinking oil seal. COuld of it been caused the timing belt keeps going all the way back and rubbing on the rear of the oil pump?

Problem 3:
When the car is on, there is a light ticking noise coming from the front top of the vg30 and from the oil pump area when the lower timing cover is instled. The saucer plate that goes between the crankshaft and the crank gear is slightly bent too.

I really need some help on this little project its getting me freakin frustrated. Hoov or Nismo, ya guys are like the Z gods around here yall have any ideas? If yall need pics let me know. Thanks everyone!

Problem 1 is somewhat of an easy answer..... Typically, if a belt tends to run away from the motor, it's too tight. Just the opposite happens when the belt is too loose. Also, look at the stud that the tensioner pulley mounts to. Make sure it's not bent (forcing the pulley to push or pull the belt forward/backward on the other pulleys.

I had to replace my tensioner stud and pulley when my belt kept running towards the front of the motor (almost off the pulleys).

Problem 2.... Just change the front crank seal.

Problem 3.... You're going to have to get out the mechanic's stethoscope to figure out just where the ticking is coming from. However, it would surprise me of that plate was part of the issue.

Prob. 1: I freakin knew the belt was too tight. Note to self, listen to your first instinct.

Prob. 2: How hard is it to swap out that crank seal?

Prob. 3: Again I was thinking the same on that saucer plate. But i will definitely check it out with a stethoscope. Its just great to hear some reassurance to let me know Im on the right path. Thanks again!

well, it sounds like you'll be removing the timing cover to get at the belt again. since you're in there, just remove the crank pulley and pop out the seal. Then you can just press in a new one.

If the belt is moving toward the back, then it's too loose. Not too tight. But like I said, that's just a rule of thumb. It very well could be the timing belt tensioner or it's stud. I always try to replace both the tensioner pulley and the stud every time I replace the belt.

I already have it torn apart again. But are ya talking about the crankshaft pulley or the crank gear. Cuz crank pulley is off but how the hell ya get off the crank gear from the oil pump. I'd hate to strip that bad boy off ya know. Plus how do ya get it put back on without the use of shop equipment. Do i need to use a puller. I'd like to do it right rather than to risk breaking something. im on a budget these days. thanks

Okay i got the crank gear off. How do i remove the plate without bending it to get to the oil seal? Plus how do i remove the oil pump seal? Looks like i need to replace the whole oil pump cuz its appears to be pressed into it.
