Should i buy it?

Ok, I used to own a 86 mint condition n/a 300zx, absolutely loved the car almost as much as i love my dog.

I had to sell it to buy a family car

Ok, now i have the opp. to buy a me car. And i found a 87 n/a 300zx.
Guy only wants 800 bucks for it. I needs the following:
Door Panels DS/PS, Door handle interior PS, Hood Latch release handle, Rear cargo carpet, ttop weather seal, paint, engine seems to run really smooth, tranny shifts smooth, brakes are good, dash is in pristine shape, seats are ok,
seems to have a leak in the valve covers, and the power steering is kinda noisy, could be seal or maybe the pump is going out, no rust, no dents, all the glass is good, has some aftermarket rims that look like euro style mutli spoke rims.. He's asking 1500 but i talked him down to 800.

Seems like it just needs cosmetics. Oh, it has 140k showing on odometer which has stopped working. It is a far cry from what i had before.

What do you guys think?

I'd have to see pics first to make an opinion. Have any available?

Just this one..

I should have taken pics, but this is the pic he posted on the web.
I can do do any and all of the necessary work needed to restore.

Also possibly going to look at a 1990 z32 2+2, but it has almost 300k miles and needs body work and interior work. He wants 1500 but i could probably get him down to a 1000.. has a miss as well. Wont know much about it til i go finger it.

Not too bad. Since its running and not a total rust bucket, I would say its easily worth $800. Most of the stuff you listed that need fixed or replaced are easy and relatively cheap fixes (except for paint maybe).

800 for that seems like a great deal. Just make sure it isn't rusted to hell underneath.
