ive got a 85 300zx n/a
no mods. when i start the car, it idles fine, but when i try to rev it up a little,
it starts bouncing at 2000 rpm like its rev limited

im leaning towards maf,
anyone have any ideas?

btw i changed the spark plugs rotor and cap

 

Washed it recently? Could be moisture in the TPS.

nope its plugged in, could it be bad?
also, after the mas is plugged in, where does that plug go?
into the harness, or is there another connection between the mas plug, and the computer

 

I believe it goes into the harness and right to the ECU.

but I would guess your MAS is bad. Do you know anyone that has a running 300ZX you can swap the sensor just to check?

also, don't forget what was already said about the TPS. check the plug that is on the Throttle Position Sensor. If its wet at all then dry it out good or just leave it unplugged for a few hours so it can dry.

hey im new here but im haveing the same problem. the conputer in my 86 300zx non t sead it was the mas .

 

it was the mass airflow sensoron. my car its runing fine now.
