Removal of Harmonic Balancer
I am changing H20 pump, timing belt & other belts(A/C,h20 pump, alt.). I am having trouble removing the large 1&1/16" bolt that retains the vibration dampener(harmonic balancer). Any suggestions? Breaker bar against the ground & use starter? I fear spinning it off and damaging the radiator. Thanks....

Put the car in 4th or 5th gear. Pull the e-brake up real tight. Chock some wheels.
Use at least a 1/2" drive rachet or pull bar. Slide a 3 or 4 foot long section of pipe over the handle of the 1/2" drive. Get a grip and turn counter-clockwise. It will come loose.

Thanks, I had it in R & after thinking about it, that makes NO sense. Are you in NC? I had Dale Brinsfield from Brinsfield Imports in Greensboro (where I am from)build my last Z, a 1975 280Z. It was pretty sweet. Had a 16 yr old smash into me a few years ago and totaled it- yea thanks.. Thanks for your help, i'll get a breaker bar and try tomorrow... --Lee
