Rear Tailights
Hi,
I'm new to Z31s, i got a 260z myself and considering buying a Z31 and selling my 260z and buying a 240z and fixing it up,
i am asking about the rear tailights, what years were the tailights changed, i see in DJEFZ1969s car that they are the smaller type and others are the larger type....
i'm in australia so can anyone give me details on what details, models had this type of rear end, thats the type i'd rather have

Well i can tell you that in North America, the 84-86 cars had the bigger separate taillights, and the 87-89 cars had the smaller one that goes straight across. I'm not sure what month the 86-87 split was, but that's the way it is here.

84turbo and non-turbo and all 85-86 non-turbo cars had taillights that looked like the one on this site:

85/6 turbo had same design, but the tops of the lenses on the sides are a darker color red, and the center piece is dark grey and says TURBO on it. like this: <img src=http://z31.com/86/burugnybr.86.t.2.jpg.jpg>
'87 thru '89 have long narrow lenses that go evenly across the rear like this: <img src=http://z31.com/87/black.87.t.2.d.jpg>
