this is somewhat related...

when my 84 N/A Z is dead cold (like in the morning) my Transmission will take a few miles until it will shift into overdrive (last gear). This seems kind of strange to me... but I was just wondering by chance if it was a 'feature' or something wrong with the tranny. I'm going to have it rebuilt soon anyway (the oil gets burned after only around 1500-2000 miles). Thanks

Most electronic-overdrive transmissions will only shift to top gear & lock-up the torque converter when speed & temperature parameters are met.
