I went and finally got the ignition transistor for my car. not the prob. i opened up the distributer. down beneath the rotor plate there was dirt of some sort. i cleaned that out and car is still having probs. i have a quick question. what is the sensor that connects to the fuel pressure regulator. whatever was on mine snapped of somehow. could this cause my car to die after getting hot?

Hello, that sensor is called the fuell temperature sensor. when feul temps are higher that expected it adjusts the air fuel mixture to compensate. it can not be removed from tha fuel pressure regulator it would have to be replaced as a whole. or you could try what I did and solder it back on but only do this if you are experianced in soldering. as far as it causing your engine stop after it gets hot i would say no because my engine was runnig fine even without it being connected (basicly i didnt know where the wire was it took me a while to find it). My 86 na ran like this for about 2 weeks. but it should be replaced or fixed.
