in need of a Z mechanic
Sure, if it runs. Got a great guy here in CT (200 miles). Depending on what you need, he would do it in a single day. Best mech I have ever met. Reasonable fees too.
Welcome to ZDriver! You have your factory service manual, right? It's free at http://www.xenonz31.com/reference.html with other great docs. People here refer to it all the time. CHeck out the inspection and troubleshooting pages. They're easy to follow and you will be surprised at what you can do all by yourself.
Thanks and welcome!

I take mine to Turnersville Nissan. They have a Nissan master mechanic named Bill. He's the only guy that works on my '86. Plus he just likes to wrench on the old Z's he has offered to help me on several occasions outside the shop.
