So my car has a bad lifter tick. Im going to be retightening the heads next weekend and i really want to fix that lifter tick while im at it. I blew a head gasket a few weeks ago and all the lifters seemed fine. I used a block of wood and pushed on the rocker arm down on the lifter and all of them seemed to resist pretty nicely. There was some space in between the rocker and the lifter on some of them but nothing that would make soo much noise. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

check the adjustment little 4 dollar tool on all make sure its proper. check oil level if you still have problems take a wrench all metal no rubber stick it on the rocker cover and put your ear up to the other ends and listen for were the tick is at its loudest mine ticks when the oil gets below about half way between high and low on the dip stick hope this helps
