1. Love the paint, it's very nice.
2. Hate the wheels, they look like something I might see on a "mexicanized" car (no offense, just seems in my area that hispanic owned cars have wheels that look like that, and on some cars it looks good, on the Z in the picture I dont think it looks all that good)
3. Definately ditch the chevy cutout, tacky in my opinion.
4. Dont know what the inside looks like, or what the audio sounds like, so there might be some ideas to do interior work on it.
5. I really dont like the hood latches, I think those look good on older mustangs, but detract from the clean lines of the Z.
I think that paint looks so damn sharp, but ive seen cars similar in paint that get really *orange* from certain angles, I didnt notice it in any of the photos provided, but cant really tell without looking at the car in person. I've seen some mustangs with similar paint that switch from ugly blue to sparkly purple depending on the angle (with other angles of the car looking more black than either blue or purple), they remind me of that plastic paper you can wrap gifts in.
The more I look at the pictures, the more I think it's the tires that look weird to me, they just seem to have too much bulge in them, I prefer tires that look *almost* flat looking from the rim to the tread edges. That is to say, not a lower profile, just the sidewalls seem to look more straight up and down.
Overall, it's a nice looking car and one that I'd love to have sitting in my garage, minus the hood latches and chevy cutout.

Ok. This is what I have to say about my friend's wheels (being that I've even seen it in person) I don't like the hood latches. And at first didn't like the chevy cut out. Although after we talked the first time, it grew on me. It's a hybrid, so it's all good. But the paint goes phat. Really looks nice under good sun.
The wheels? Rice? "Mexicanized"? Get real. It looks far from either.... There's nothing RICED about this car at all And being smack middle of Texas, I've seen some "Mexicanized" cars..... These wheels aren't that. One they usually are spoked and two usually extend outside (usually dramaticly). These wheels are neither. And you know what? Luckidawg is Mexican.... OOPS..
Plans on the chevy cutout (or what we've talked about... not that he'll do it) is to plexiglass it and put lights to make it glow (not directly behind it).
Overall I really like it because it's different. Which is something I plan of doing to mine. Making it different from other people's Z. And it was cleanly done.

Re: Luckidawg's Z
i think it would look really nice with a set of chromed Z32 wheels, and instead of the chevy cut out on the hood..it would look sweet with a Z all lighted up with Red..or something..that would loook nice..clean the engine bay. Looks kinda dirty, yeah...only issues i have with the car is the chevy cutout and the wheels..

Re: Luckidawg's Z
First off the engine bay really takes away from how clean the rest of the car is. The paint is bueatiful and looks great!! I can live with the chevy symbol and the rims, but better fitting rims could be found. I also agree that the tires need a flatter sidewall. Your friend may want to look into a ground effects kit also. And please ask him to loose the hood latches. Other than that that Z is pretty (EXPLETIVE) sweet!! CruiZe On!!
If pot is wrong, does that mean God made a mistake??

Re: Luckidawg's Z
he can't lose the hood pins. notice he has no more original hood latches? I wouldn't want the hood coming up on me at any speed.
as for the engine and chevy symbol...
I don't mind the hole. I'm going to guess it has some effect on the cooling of the engine as well.
but I agree about the engine bay.... Damn that thing is dirty for how nice the outside looks.

Re: Luckidawg's Z
First off, the car really isn't "Mexicanized", however politically incorrect that term may be.
The rims look better when you look at the car directly from the side, I would personally seek a different set however. I am amazed he got a V-8 to work in there, I bet that was a lot of work. I am assuming it was a non-turbo by the silver trim, most likely an 1986, so a V-8 would be better for power.
About the Chevy cutout, I would probably fill in the top and bottom parts, leaving a long rectangle and put a mesh on that with '300ZX' on it - but that may be hard to fill in.
Just a note: That car is far from 'Mexicanized'. I live down here in San Antonio, and saying that in public may lead to a severe *** whipping on several levels. The tires are not extending 6 inchs from the car and are not under 15''s in size. There is no mural on the car, which even though I hate orange as a color on cars, its a really nice paint job that I even like. Also it is not dropped, which is good.
Its good overall, and that engine bay needs to be cleaned!

Re: Luckidawg's Z
Im sorry if I offended anyone, or my political *un-correctness*, and actually didnt mean the rims themselves, they look okay, it's more the tires and rounded sidewalls that give me that impression. Flat sidewalls just look really clean.
