its been a while but i need a tire size opinion

alright it feels good to back here. don't have a computer at my place so i have to use my dads. anyway i want to put 17x8's up front and 17x9.5 in the rear of my 300zx. i have looked at tire sizes on the z31 wheel-show and seen what other people have used for sizes of tires for that size wheel but i want your guys' opinions as well. what size tires would you use? also thinking of using maybe a 1" spacer just to bring them out some. thanks in advance for the opinions.

It's really stupid to say you're going to get 1" spacers when you don't even have the wheels and offsets yet. If you buy wheels with the appropriate offset, you'll never need spacers.

zbum, here are the specs for the wheels im looking at what do you think?

Wheel Height 17"
Wheel Width 8"
Offset -11mm
Bolt Pattern 5x4.5"
Back Spacing 4"
Finish Polished

rear
Wheel Size 17x9.5"
Wheel Height 17"
Wheel Width 9.5"
Offset +28mm

give me your professional opinion on if i should use spacers and what size tires you would go with. i consider you to be like a z31 guru. thanks in advance.

Is that a minus 11 on the offset? If it is, they'll likely stick out past the fenders as they are. You might get away with them if you get stretched tires (I personally hate the look).

The backspacing numbers don't exactly match the given width/offset information, so I'm not sure which numbers to believe.

No matter the case, you will not need spacers or adapters. They're a pretty aggressive fit and will probably work well on an AE or 86, but not too sure about the 87-89 models. I'm skeptical about them fitting the front properly. If they're local, you should see if you can try them on first.

thanks zbum. yea its a local place i would be getting them from. but knowing my luck i would have to order them before i could test fit them. i got the specs right from the site of the local place that i would go through, here is the link,

http://sedamtire.com/showcaseproduct...=109&Type=2640

they got specs for all the different sizes you could get them in on there. the place is only like 10 mins from me and i know the owner so i may be able to test before purchase but he can be a ***** at times so its hard to say.

they wouldnt be going the 87 N/A i got, come february i will have an 88 turbo if that makes much of a difference.

Of those options, you should easily be able to see the choices I would make.
Front: 17x8
Wheel Size ------ 17x8"
Wheel Height ---- 17"
Wheel Width ----- 8"
Offset ---------- +8mm
Bolt Pattern ---- 5x4.5"
Back Spacing ---- 4.75"
Finish ---------- Polished

Rear: 17x9.5
Wheel Size ------ 17x9.5"
Wheel Height ---- 17"
Wheel Width ----- 9.5"
Offset ---------- +28mm
Bolt Pattern ---- 5x4.5"
Back Spacing ---- 6.375"
Finish ---------- Polished

I would go wider on the rear. I have 255s on the 9" wide wheels and will be going wider next set.

^ yes, on a 9.5" wide wheel I would go with a 275 or wider. 275 is a perfect fit on my 9.5" wide wheels.
