Heated O2 sensor question

Heated O2 sensor question

Alright quick question for you Z31 guys. I'm planning to upgrade to the later 87+ ECU that uses the titania heated O2 sensor. Basically I want to know is, can I have the O2 sensor placed into the exhaust pipe more downstream? So it could be easier to get at as far as welding in the bung goes? It'd be before the cat, but it would be placed down after the downpipe has made it's bend following along the firewall. I know the fact that it's heated doesn't cause a problem, I'm wondering if it would cause a problem with readings?
