My 88 z31 n/a I just bought has the check engine light on and I know California are real sticklers on the Check Engine light. I saw on XenonZ31 that only California models have the CEL and it only relates to emissions such as the EGR and Fuel Temp sensor. Is this true? or does the CEL relate to other aspects of the car.

You could also run the ecu self diagnostic test to see what the problem is...

only 88-89 z31's have that light.
