So I have some big plans with my "Z" since my accident most of them exterior and interior mods....but I feel bad because the car will be one of the badest looking vehicles on the street but will be lacking in performance. I am planning on putting in a K&N air filter and maybe a high performance computer from motorsport or another vendor but what else can i really do to increase the performance of my non turbo z. (Besides I guess drop my tranny and add a new tranny and rearend and a turbo engine....sorry dont have the money or resources.) But if anyone has any small little tis or tricks then it would be much appreciated. Thanx.

Well you have a good start with the k&n. A performance computer can only do so much with stock injectors/fuel pump and air flow meter though. Since you've increased your intake, it wouldn't be a bad idea to open your exhaust up some too. Maybe go with a 2.5" exhaust system. You can also put a 240 or stanza throttle body on it at low expense. they are about 10mm larger than the stock Z one, and will bolt up directly if you get the right one. check here for more info on modifications. Details on the throttle body can also be found either there or on one of the links on that page.
