Does anyone know if I would need to retard my ignition timing on my 85 300zx N/A if I bypassed the EGR valve? From what I read on it the EGR valve is just there to prevent the combustion from being too hot and producing Nox gases, so its basically a emissions thing. I want to bypass it by capping the vac line running to it. I just need to know if I need to retard the timing to prevent detonation.
