So my baby died on me (while driving) about a week ago. I had it towed to my place and since have done some diagnostic work on it. It was making a grinding sound when trying to start and would NOT start. I replaced the starter and the grinding sound went away, but the car still won't start. To be honest, I haven't checked for fuel, but I can hear the pump priming when I turn the car to ON. I found that I am getting spark to the distributor but not out. Took off the cap, cranked the engine and discovered the rotor is not spinning or rotating. It is definitely trying to as I see it wobble back and forth but will not spin. Can someone please tell me why this COULD be? Much appreciated!

 

Pull the dizzy and check for damage.

 

Pulled the dizzy and the driveshaft/rotor will not turn freely by hand. I had to apply an immense amount of torque (by hand) to get it to move and it was still grinding and rough. Didn't seem quite right. Anyone got a dizzy to sell?
