Re: distributer

ya swap. i dont wanna get a new one till im sure its the problem. cuz 400 dollars is too mush for the wrong item. see i'm still troubleshooting the dam problem my car has had. it starts, runs for a while, then dies. when i go to start it i am getting no spark to the distributer. i pulled off the lead and set it to metal and there was no arcing. the coil and ignition unit transistor is good

what can cause this. and if my back wiring harness at the brake lights has a burned circuit and messed up wires, can that do it?

thx

Re: distributer

Az is right, simple enough to take off. My 86 had that problem and it turned out to be the crank angle sensor in the dist. PIA to diagnos.....had no spark, and I replaced EVERYTHING attached to the thing before I changed out the distributer. I think I only paid like 230 for a new one though, might want to shop around....

Re: distributer

also for troubleshooting this problem. besides it being the distributer, could you guys list any other possibilities of why my car does this. could it be a bad cap and rotor. problem started after a new cap and rotor, and a new alternater. all help is greatly appreciated. just think. you're keeping another z alive.
