Disconnected wire???

It seems that there is a wire that is unconnected at the moment but sure looks like it should. This is from a 1984 z31 that is new-to-me. It seems that everything electrical is working with the exception of the Cruise Control. Suggestions, concerns, thoughts are all very welcome.

A wire that large is designed to carry large current. Looks to me like it is an old battery cable that was never removed. Were does the other end go to?

Wire you disconnected? Here's why...

Winner, winner -- chicken dinner! It was indeed the power cable to an old amplifier. Following the lead led me to a pile of other wires and now my car is 1/2 pound lighter. Thanks all who added.
