crank angle sensor....anybody...????

hmm ok, well i have mulitple problems with my Z so i hope you guys can help me out (i'm not gonna unload them all cause i'd probly get flamed for buying my car in this shape)...... ok when i go to start my car i check the diagnostics on the ECU, i get 1 green and 1 red... so i looked on the side and it said crank angle sensor, i know what this part is, but i wanna know if this light means that the sensor is automatically messed, am i gonna have to buy a whole new distributer, or could it be somehting else? please help, much thanks

check to make sure that the two connectors to the dist. are hooked up. you can buy just the cas, but its cheaper to buy the whole distributor. go figure.
