car antenna won’t go up
Hi,
I apologise for bugging everyone but I am currently trying to fix my 86 NA’s antenna. I took the exterior pieces apart today and the antenna slipped right out (disconnected?), but the motor appears to be working. When I press the antenna button the interior, it responds with a click but the antenna does not go up but it did retract when pulled out manually. Is the motor broken? Or is it something else? I do not have much car repair experience so I apologise if this is a dumb question. I also only have the chilton manual so I know I should probably pick up something else to help. Thank you for reading! |

1. Never underestimate the power of a Chilton or a Haynes manual. https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.zdr...e2c32e1a72.jpg 2. In my case, the cable had broken. Once apart, you can get a new one should this be the case. https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.zdr...7423decdc3.png The replacement is usually comprised of a mast and cable. Available at the usual suspects. Repair instructions available here. |
Thank you! I appreciate it. I’m still new to car things and trying to figure out a z31 as a first project is proving a bit tough haha! Thank you again!
