hello, Will a 84 auto trans work with a 88 auto? it's been very hard to good information on this and before anyone says all z31 trans are interchangeable that is NOT TRUE!!!
I bought an 86 auto turbo trans awhile back and it turned out the input shaft is longer and the torque converter is different. which caused the torque and flexplate to bind and bend the flex plate. if anyone has any helpful information please let me know.

and also I'm not looking to convert I'd like to keep this car completely original.

I'd rather slit my wrists and jump off a cliff before I install an 84 auto trans... because it is probably already toast, or about to fail like the rest.
