1st Z31

1st Z31
Hey guys. So I just bought my 1st Z31. I come from S13's but when this Z became available I jumped on it. Anyway, Its an 84 2+2 NA. She's only got 112k miles on her and apart from the interior being in pretty bad shape and some wiring gremlins she's perfect. Since I'm new to Z's I'm looking for some basic mod ideas. I've got the basics of the car down. I've been lurking on several Z forums for about a week. So far my plans include S13 SOHC throttle body, maybe a Z32, tarus e-fan, full suspension, headers, cam and tune. Most likely in that order. Anyway just thought I'd say hi. I'll try and get some pictures up tomorrow.

best mod idea for power is to sell and buy a turbo. modding n/a VG's is very fruitless and unrewarding. maybe later i'll feel like searching to find that thread where the guy had put pretty much every common mod on his Z31 n/a and spent like $6k or something with cams, intake, flywheel, ECU, electric fan and everything and he had only managed to move the crank HP to the wheels. he said he regretted it dearly.
congrats on the buy though. pretty good find with the low mileage and the bad interior to bring the price down. it's a great DD. every time i have to buy a part for my z32 i wish i could just skimp and get the z31 equivalent because they're typically half the price. this is a great source for help!

n/a vg's don't take boost as well as a lot of other n/a engines. you'd be much better off swapping a complete turbo motor in, and even better off selling your car and getting a turbo model. you're going to spend a lot more money than you need to this way.

You can sell it. In the end, at the end of the day, or on the brink of your own death, you will realize that they are just cars, nothing more.
