Re: 1988 Body Kit Switch

zbum is right, you have far more potential in your 3.0 v6 turbo than a 2.0 inline 6 turbo. The reason why you would switch is because there are far more after market performance parts for the rb20det than there are for the vg30et. But the rb20det engine was not the only engine to appear in the fairlday Z models.

of course from japan where else, the west coast is filled with shops that specialize in GTR performance, and since the RB series engine appears in the GTR, it wont be hard at all getting parts. A little pricy, but then again...what isnt..right?Just get connections from cali, or any Northwestern state and your set.

Well putting the Twin Turbo motor in your 88 zx is a hassle because its not a direct fit, although iv seen it before many times. Its just one of those projects that require alot of money.

Re: 1988 Body Kit Switch

hahah i wont even get into how much money your gona put into your car just to drop a vg30dett engine in your z. The numbers are crazy, but if your crazy then that would be one hell of a crazy car. If you want a turbo charged z, why not sell your 87 N/A and buy a turbo. Thats what i recommend, anyway. No point in putting a vg30et into a N/A when you can just buy a car that already has it.
but...
If you really want to turn your z into a fairlady, drop a rb20det..the engine is pretty hard to find and alittle pricy if you ask me.
