hey guys, gals and enbies,
I'm considering buying an '87 Z for myself and was wondering if I would even fit inside, since I've never been in one.
I am 6'4 and really do want this car so I'd appreciate it if I could get some intel from you guys. I'm skinny so side to side space should be fine.
Used to drive an f(a) rx7 but needed aftermarket seats and a steering wheel setup to be comfortable. U reckon I'll need them for the z aswell?
Also while we're at it, what do you guys reckon are important things to check on the koukis when inspecting? And the best first moves for maintenance, easy fixes, improvements and mods (not necessarily power oriented, just upgrading problem-areas to establish a baseline for later tuning).
To be sure, I’d say to sit in a z31 yourself and find out. I’m 6’00” and I find the leg and head room to be enough in my 84-T with power seats.
It’s usually the very tall, the very short, and the very fat (because they have trouble getting their stomach past the steering wheel) that have car seat issues.
I am 6'3" and 220 lbs and would not call the Z31 driver's leg room or space as tight. You should have no problem with the leg room. My 6/4 brother never had an issue driving my Z31 either.
The first thing I noticed back in 1973 when I got my 1st Z car was the enormous amount of leg room. That was also a trait in the S130 and Z31. My Z32 has a tighter space for the driver and my biggest gripe is if you have a size 12 shoe, rotating the right foot from the gas to the brake hits things. Not a problem on the Z31.
