can you guys list some good replacement seats that i can use for a 280zx '80. ones that fit pretty good
by researching i've heard eclipse seats and miata seats, but i wanna know what are my other options
(i dont know which ones will fit)

well check for width and hight...
i got some out of an mx-3 and they sqeeze in but barely.....and one bracket bolts right in and the other ill have to move like an inch over to make it fit....
prelude seats, crx seats, 300zx ones.....they all fit.....i hear rx7 seats fit too

Easiest way is to go to a junkyard and check seats with your own seat rails, it might be a bit time consuming, but at least you know what will fit ahead of time. Anyway, most Honda seats will fit, and you can use your stock brackets to get them to fit. Only thing you'll have to do is drill into them to make them fit the seat, but it's not hard by any means.

lifegrddude is right... your gonna have to do a bit of modification to the seats to get them to fit right... i used recarros i got from a friend who works for the local dumps.. someone threw away a perfectly good set of recarro sport seats.. i just took apart my stock seats and took the rails off them and made brackets that would accept the recarros.. and they fit perfect...

Be careful with those Euro seats. They have a really strange mounting system. I would stay away from VW or BMW seats!
a jetta seat i saw had three mounts. The front center mount fastened into a slider built into the floor.
