I like the larger wheels, but I think you need to put larger tires on them. Either that, or lower the car. I think that there is too large of a gap between the tire and the fender.

i agree... The new springs i bought were suppose to lower the car 1.6 inches, so i think a bigger tire is the way to go.

damn... those tires look awfully small. Did you look up what size tire you'll need so it doesn't affect gearing and what your speedo says as opposed to what you're actually going? I think I remember way back almost 2 years ago when I had my z31 there was a website that listed the right tire and wheel combinations to keep the stock gearing correct.

does anyone know what I'm talking about or have I just been away from z31's for too long to remember what I'm talking about?

you'd be close enough to calculate the diameter of the stock tires and then find an equivalent diameter tire.

I agree they're too small, lowering the car farther won't fix the gap on the sides. Nice car tho.............

ok.. I'm bored and didn't feel like studying for finals, so I found it.

http://z31.com/software/tire.pl

go there, and keep the same numbers in the original tire size, then under that, on allowable diameter change I'm thinking that the smaller the number is, the better, because it's closest to the original diameter, so pick 1. and then under that there's show wheel diameters this much larger than stock, I'll assume those new wheels are 17s, so put 2 in that pull down box. Then when you submit a list will come up showing the different tire sizes, diameters, and the percent they're different from stock. and from that I think either 235-45-17 or 205-50-17 would be your best bet.

can anyone confirm this for me?

I forgot to go chek the tire size...i believe it is 215/55/17. I have 1/4 in spacers on it and the front wheels are about that far away (if less) fromt he strut assembly in the front. I would be worried about a bigger tire size and whether they would fit up front.

Ok, so if you went with 50 series tires, then that'd make a huge difference. That would give you about another 20.5 mm in tire height. It would give you 10.25mm more tire on each side of the wheel. That'd look much better.
