faulty headlights

On an 84 I have a problem where the headlights continually cycle from lowered to raised position at switch on. I figure there must be relay to interupt this circuit once the lights are raised. Anyone seen this problem before?? Thanks

Faulty Headlights

I have only had this car for a couple of weeks so forgive me for asking what the switch is for. Is the switch on the passengers side( my steering is R/H)

I believe he means the switch that turns the lights on and off. Which, I believe is always on the left side of the steering wheel.

well, there are 2 switches, one is so you can keep your lights raised even if they are not on. The second is on the arm. I personally believe a switch or wire is shorting out. when the light goes down, look to see if the lights are still on, if so it is the switch on the dash, maybe.

Apon researching this car I have found several complaints about the electrical components. In example the dashes shorting out.. ps, replace the sensor under the hood before buying a 200+ dash just to sell the car to a guy like me who gets a sensor for $20 and poof, the dash works!!
