I have an 86 black na z, has a black interior. What color should the factory stereo be (it is not in the car I want to buy the right one). I thought black because that's what the heating/cooling panel is but I can only find silver ones.

If the climate control panel is black, then the stereo was black to match.

But why do you want a factory stereo?

 

I want a factory stereo to make it look right aftermarkets always look like cob jobs. Plus I can run my ipod in it with the tape adapter.

I know what you mean. My aftermarket stereo actually looks pretty nice. I'll post up a pic later.

 

They came both. Like I said, if the climate controls were black, the stereo was black. If the climate controls were silver, the stereo was silver. And if the climate controls were fake wood grain (like a 50th AE), then the stereo was fake wood grain.
