Well people know me on here. So they know I am going to say. Get another 280zx. Don't get me wrong. Someday..I would like to have an S30. But there is just something about the 280zx. That I never get tired of. Oh...I took off the power steering a/c. I only have one belt on my engine. lol Anyway up to you...but the 280zx would be my choice.

lol something about a zx? i rode in a 240z when i was 14 not old enough to drive and it was the coolest thing in the world wow story time....

i was 14 looking for a 240sx and somehow i talked my mom into taking me down to tampa to look at some 240sx's at XAT racing and some other place that specialized in SX's but we stoped in lakeland or lakecity(cant remember) and were looking for a place to eat and i saw a car at a dealer ship that looked like a 240sx but it was of course a 240z black with some kind of silver rims... we stoped looked at, thing was the car was a POS but it was still awesome, there was some random guy that pulled up in the minivan with the kids and started to look at it too, he told me he raced a CRX and was looking for another race car... we notice the doors are not locked so we let our selves in and i thought the BLACK interior was ****(little did i know it had an uncracked dash and the carpet was just old) he poped the hood and i noticed it poped near the windshield the opposite direction(i had never seen this in my life) he couldnt open it so i tried and i actually was able to pry it open and there was a L24 with im thinking a set of aftermarket carbs(didnt look like the ones i have seen but it might have just had a diff intake)... we looked at it some more and eventually i get bored and had seen all i had cared to see(it was just a pos to me anyway) we left and ate lunch.. came back by and noticed the place looked open now so we stoped and talked to the guy... he said that there were a lot of people looking at it and i wondered why... so he asks if i want to drive it.. 2 problems im 14 and cant drive stick... but my mom didnt want to drive it so he said he could drive me around the block(oh yeah the gauges didnt work)the carpet was green for some reason but i remember how cool the 3 guages looked in the dash... he started it up and i knew why there were people intrested in the car... the 240looked like **** but i felt cool just riding in it we got back and was afraid to ask but i did ask my mom could i get this instead but she laughed at me so i kind of laughed it off too... i got a card from the guy and we left to continue to tampa but i didnt care about all the 240sx's i saw, i just wanted to go back and look at the z again... i always remembered that car

a year later i found the zx thinking it was a 240z but no its a s130.. i still like the 280zx but im still looking for a s30(mabe black on black like the one i rode in and i can put my sivler rims on it then ill know what it would be like to drive that car... but i did find one about a month ago crushed on the back of a trailer it was black with some silver zx turbo rims but thats another story...

if this dosent make you want to get the s30 just get the zx...

dumb question - did you just take the power steering belt off, or did you swap in a manual rack and pinion? (is there even any difference? I would think the manual one would be geared lower or something to make it easier to turn.... but I don't know).

I just took the pump and belt off. And put the lines out of the way. I got used to steering it with the power rack in there. I got it where I can turn a corner with one hand. It's going to be weird..when I drive my hardtop. Which still has a good pump on it. And a brand new rack and pinion.

Oh..and it also makes it easier to get to the alternator and such. I always had to remove the power steering pump. To get to the alternator..lol
