Great pics of a 78 280Z. I'm not real big on digital guages, but it does look kinda slick. Also, Wildman, pretty good shots of a fuel rail hook-up with a stock regulator....

Right on man, that Z is friggin' sweet. Now I have a better idea, how to set up my JSK fuel rail. And I also want those Cusco strut tower bars too. Especially because they are blue and silver. (chromish)

.................................................. .................................. I guess I'm a ***** too then. I went to 300zxclub.com after I got my Z32 to get some techinacal help that wasn't available here and everybody there just loves my 280ZX! I was shocked at how many compliments I got from the Z31 and Z32 guys over there. I had a bunch of offers to buy it too. None of you guys ever gave my car that kind of love... . This site is still a lot cooler and more family like though. ... ... ... ... Rod.

If I recall Rod, wasn't there a big post where we all complimented your car

Anyway. Man I love that S30Z, that just makes it harder in my mind which to go for next. An S30 or another S130.

Yeah, I was just being pouty... And Sarcastic. It's all good. I was just shocked at how the Z31 and Z32 guys were falling all over my car. It was pretty cool. There are some amazing cars in that forum. Rod.

That 280 is really nice, I would like thoose gauges. And Rod, your ZX is the bomb diggity shitZ. I hope mine looks half as good as yours does. Right now I am stripping the 80 for the parts for the 79, bought her as a basically rolling shell. So keep your chin up, you know we all love your car

We Just Dont Want To Buy Your Car Because We All Know How Much You Love It. That And There Is So Much Blood Sweat And Tears In It That It Would Be A Shame To Have It Leave Your Side.

Ok, I'm going to chime in now on Rod's Z. That thing is the SH*T!! It's almost the color scheme I want in reverse, the interior is right on, and the wheels and tires are the best!! I've give a left nut, yadda, yadda...

Rod, I'd REALLY Love to see your engine. I notice you've never posted it, even on your cardomain site, but I'd really like to see it. If you don't want, that's cool.

You guys are way too funny. I was only playin' with the whole "you don't love my car" thing. As far as posting engine pics goes. the biggest reason that I haven't, is because there is really nothing special to see. Aside from the bright red Cold Air Intake. Plus, the engine bay and the inside of the hood never got painted so with the hood up my car looks like a reeses peanut butter cup with a bite taken out of it. It kinda kills its sex appeal when you see that ugly *** gold paint underneath. I was planning on painting the engine bay and the underside of the hood when I did the turbo swap. I may never actually do the turbo swap now since I have this Z32 project to work on. I haven't yet decided what to do with the 280 yet. I have actually (Cringe) toyed with the idea of selling the little guy. The biggest problem with that is that I won't get anywhere near what I would want for it and certainly not enough to do much with the Z32. I don't know. I'm sure I will keep it but the progress with its tranformation from pauper to prince will now be dramatically slower. ... ... ... Rod.

That seems to happen when you buy a Z32 Your car is always the greatest until you buy a better one

J don't blasphemy, the Z32 is a great car, but a greater pain in the a$$. I didn't really like my 80 till I took it apart. That's when I loved it. So simple and everything is where you can reach it. There is nothing extra. And to me that makes it the best car I own. On my 3KGT I have to remove the whole upper plenum to change the rear spark plugs. And speaking of plenum's, ever try to remove a Z32's plenum. Don't bother, save yourself the time and aggrevation. And even jump starting the Z32, with the battery half way under the cowl. Love the s130's for there looks and simplicity

I'm just saying after having a 280zx as your daily driver for so long and then you drive something a little more (ok a lot more) refined and a bit faster too then odds are you're going to have a new daily driver. I love my 280zx, and as far as favorites goes, it's at the top of my list. But it is in no way my favorite car as far as daily driving goes. It suffices as a day to dayer and it's an absolute blast to have fun in. But when it comes to commuting and just wanting to get from point a to point b in comfort then it's not exactly at the top. I'm sure you'll agree that your 3000GT is much more comfortable to drive. Thats just the nature of the beast. The Z32 is much more refined then the S130. Thats why Im so hesitant to buy a Z32. I KNOW it's going to see more road time than my S130 despite how much I love my current Z. When I do finally upgrade to a newer Z, be it Z32 or Z33, I'll probably build up the 280zx into more of a pure performance machine. It will never compete with the newer cars in terms of features and creature comforts (not for less than the cost of a newer Z) or just plain overall comfort. I can only handle so much traffic on a stiff clutch or so many laps around a parking lot without power steering. And the summers in a car with no A/C... It sucks not being able to hear my music over the road noise and the wind howling past the car. I hate that A/C involves removing the tops and rolling down the windows. Sure it's all fine at first, but it starts to wear on you. I'll never toss my 280 for as long as it remains in a salvageable state. But the day draws nearer where its pupose will draw away from daily driver and move toward being a weekend blaster So it's not blasphemy, it reality

When You Really Consider It, Ac Is Not That Hard To Put In. It Takes All The Parts, And Refrigerant. Up Here R12 Is Illegal So We Use Butane Based Dura Cool. That Stuff Is Great, If You Want R134a Then Change The Systems Oil And Continue To Fill Er Up. All It Takes Is The Proper Tools.

AC is a snap to put it in. A/C is what I used to do. But the whole thing about my 280 being my driving machine is why it doesn't have A/C. It's my pure, raw car. I like it that way. But because of that it lacks in other areas.

Did they even offer A/C in Canada (that was a joke )
