Whoa, anyone seen this??

Well, it seems like they've got the years right ... but I'm a little worried about the pics, and the fact they listed it under "'71-'73 240ZX" ...

No, they show it on a 240Z several times. Their description is all screwed up but I bet it is for the S30. That is nothing new. MSA has had those hoods for a long time. I can't believe I didn't see that at first. The ZX hood flares out just after the headlight buckets.

I've heard somewhere that an S30 hood is only marginally different than an S130 hood, and that they could be swapped in some instances? I'm not sure on this, if someone could please clear that up for me.

Even the MSA hood is just a layer of CF laid over and then vacuum formed onto a fiberglass base for rigidity.

Contact the guys at this site. My friend bought a CF hatch and hood from them for his 240Z (he races at Qualcomm every now and then for those of you in SD who attend racelegal events) He said the owner of the place would make a CF hood for us ZX'ers if there was enough demand and if someone had a perfect hood (no dings and straight).

That's over $900 for the hood (with all the parts you need) and over $1000 for the hatch (including polycarb 'glass' insert).
That's pretty pricey. I would go with the CF/Fiberglass hood from Classic Datsun Motorsports. It's only a few pounds heavier and it's a whole lot less $$$.

I'm picking up mine up at MSA along with a CF BRE spook and spoiler.
