i think you should be fine cleaning your engine bay... since youve got a pretty thick layer of crust on your engine bay .. i sudgest you get a good brush and after you spray your engine with the cleaner... brush away... but before you do any of that you should cover your distrubuter cap with a plastic bag.. do the same with your coil too.. and i know youve got a cracked AFM boot.. maybe you should cover that too....

yeah try wrapping the injectors too.. but the alternator should be fine... ive washed mine a few times already and always had good results.. it also helps too if you have a air compressor so you can slow it dry after washing it... you dont want standing water ontop of your intake manifold... or anywhere else in your engine bay for that matter...

Lightbulb Simple Wash!

I was told, I think by RacerX to use Simple Wash. It can be diluted with water, better than Simple green, and can be used for soaking or with a brush for scrubbing. Plus, it doesn't seem to leave any residue, and can be easly rinsed off with water.

Simple Wash is used for concrete & wood decks, so you should be able to find in in a store with building materials or a do it yourself homeowners store.

Hope this helps!

Enjoy the Ride!

I use castrol super clean (its in a purple spray bottle) and it works great. Just spray it on, let it sit for a couple of minutes, and rinse it off. DON'T let it sit on the top of your fenders because it will mess up the clear-coat if you do. After you wash it start it and let it idle for about 30 minutes. Thats what I did and it worked great.

I have used it several times and everything seems to be fine. Don't let it set on your skin for long periods of time, because I have heard it burns a little. Other than that it is good stuff.
