Does anyone have the fonts they used on the BRE Datsun cars (or something close) as a vectorized font? I want to play with my paint scheme for the S130 so I thought I'd get some stuff printed in vinyl to see how it looks on the car.

If you are just goofing around in Photoshop, just cut out the logo from one of their pics...



FYI... (just to be historically correct) BRE never raced 280ZX's. Electramotive had an IMSA 280ZX-T GTP.

The DATSUN is the DATSUN logo (lettering)... it's not BRE's font.

Looks like Tahoma or Franklin Gothic Demi in Word are the closest...

Looks like the only difference is the ends of the S.

 

oh yeah. I use that site all the time for logo tracing. There are tricks to it sometimes, too.

1. get as high a quality image as possible (duh).
2. use Photoshop or something similar to crop everything but the text you're matching (also remove any text that you're NOT matching)
3. (and this took me a bit to figure out) if WTF tries to break up a letter over two images (happens on lower quality images), drag and drop one image into the other. The page will reload with the hi-lited parts merged.
