turbo

does anyone know if the stock 280zx turbo used an internal wastegate? and if not would it be hard to install a turbo with an internal wastegate

yes, the stock is an internal wastegate turbo. i duno much about the grandnation turbo swaps but i did see it pop up once and a while.

I think the hardest thing you'll have with your turbo should you decide to use it, would be compatibility with the stock manifold and layout of the original turbo. You can essentially use any turbo you wish, it's just the packaging constraints that lead people to certain ones over others. .60 a/r is just slightly smaller than the stock t3 which is .63.
