todays progres half cage!

Well they speak for themselfs .. it wasn't the best weather for good pics.. and well the time was short lots to do

enjoy, please feel free to comment

Nice with shadow of me in it and random interior parts slinging around in the car

Side of the car, wing still has to be installed, the 280zx logos still held in place by tape

The cage after 4 hours of cutting, measuring welding and notching

Weld detail of the left support beam

Another angle ...

so much more to do!

well have fun!

Dude that Z is tight, nice work man. Sure makes me miss driving a slicktop. Someday my '81 will be fixed, too much going on right now. But verry nice job Frank. It looks like it is ready to tear up the tracks.

Jup i know.. however it is not a MINT never repainted dent free ride .. so ill take my changes .. next to that i don't want a 8 mile trailer queen, it would belong in a museum, not my hands!

frank, i like your thinking. i built my cars to drive and get beat on as well. no point in having to trailer a car around. besides, the zxr was designed to homologate the wing for racing, so might as well race it and test the wing!

HAHAHA!! Wrecked, obviously, you haven't had a Z car long enough to experience the all too common headliner 'separation'!

That's what's left of the foam cushion still attached to the roof when the vinyl headliner has been removed.

It's something everyone with a 280ZX will experience at some point in their relationship...

Cheers,
LWW

you lauging at me l-dub. That ain't cool...no, it looks shiney looking and kind of cool, so thats why i asked. Oh and my zx didn't have a headliner when i bought her. I like it better that way though, easier to run wiring and little speakers.

He lives in Down under .. so now i think it is safe to say we got the bend in a shop.. if you want i can ask the dimension and angles of the main hoop, and the front hoops ( that go over the door ).. These i will have bend somewhere in the next month.
Anyhow nice work 260det .. good to see more people being serious about the s130 and not just seeing them as part donors for a s30

Yeh the body has been stiffened up (after repairing the rust ) as part of the improvement list. Got a shop to do the main hoop bends then one of the club guys who is a welder and I did the rest.

Lot of work these S130's but I really like the tin top two seater so.......
