Ok, I'm thinking of getting some tinted covers and was wondering if I absolutely HAVE to go to the expense of H4 lamps, or would getting a new set of Halogens be good enough for now??

Thanks all

I got them on my car and i am using sylvania silver stars. Without them the headlights are great! When i put the covers on it became very dim. Word of advice Ebay. Those cheap diamond cut headlights work well.

I have the stock headlights and I can see just fine. I have also never been pulled over for them being too dark.

ok, well I went to Ebay and bought a set of Diamond Cut lenses with H4 bulbs for $36. It was better than I thought. That's shipping and all, so I thought that was pretty good. Now I just need to decide whether tinted or clear covers will do me. I'm leaning towards tinted, but would really like to hear from "Ice" about that, if possible...

Thanks for the feedback!!

i think I am going to go with clears.. would probably look better with my color. With your color i think the tinted would look sweet.

Hey jabo I still love the color of your ZX! What color blue is that? I want to paint my '82 like it. Is it like a Cobalt maybe?

I like lots of light. I plan to put clear covers on my car and jack up the wattage to the bulbs! One battery for each headlight!

wildman, I have no idea what blue that is! the guy I bought it from owns a body shop, and said that was the original color of the car (silver hood even) but that he lightened the blue... i like it though, still get looks in town

as for the cheap lights on ebay... i bought some, diamond cut and all. they've been working great (stupid power sellers... the lights were $0.01!! shipping cost: 23.00, hah

Tinted
I also have planed to get tinted headlamp covers, My 82 280zx is Candy coat orange with a black hood , I think this will look good. I dont have converted headlamps but I do have a upped watage and some differant bulbs, They were in it when I bought my Z and at night they resemble the color of a stock BMW headlamp (bright blue) I dont feel the need to buy new headlamps but ill let you know when I get my covers.

HI Jabo I bet it does, it is one of the best color schemes on those cars! I think you either have a cobalt blue or Royal Blue. They are pretty close. Anyway thanks for letting me know! Later
