i have just bought my 83 280zx turbo a couple of weeks ago it is bone stock and i am the second owner of the car. when it is cold it starts fine and drives fine lots of power, but every once and a while when it gets to normal operating temp when i shut it off for a few minuets, i will start it up and the idle will flucuate between 350 and 1500 rpm. i can give it a little throttle(about 2000 rpm) for a few seconds it will clear up and run fine again. i also noticed the orange sensor light stays on all the time. any info on this i would really apreaciate. thanks.

 

This is most often caused by the Fuel Pressure Regulator. Some of the turbo guys should be along shortly to confirm/debunk that for me. At least on my N/A car that had the exact same issue, that was the culprit.
