I have an 82 280ZX with a manual transmission and every once in a while the car will just die on me and I don't know why. It does this at any rpm's and any temperature, but it seems to do it more when I push the car harder? Also, sometimes it will restart itself simply by leaving the clutch engaged and other times I have to turn the ignition off and restart it myself So if anyone has run into this problem please give me some suggestions. Could be your ignition module, common cause of this problem. You could have a bad connection somewhere in your ignition wiring too. Check those out. I had that problem and it ended up being the IM.

Oh, yeah, just to be warned...

That Iginition Module is a sneaky bastard. So your best bet is to test with a known good one.
Testing the module itself is pretty hopeless. Doable, but the other way is a sure fix method of knowing.
