speed check
i though i would have some more fun .....so if i put it in N rev it to about 5500rpm and drop it to #1 IT WILL BRUN OUT very nicely shifting from #1 to #2 at about 5500rmp and she grabs ground like me grabing **** on sunday
Rear on an 81 auto (3.54) 3rd gear in an auto is 1:1 ratio
4600rpm = 96mph if youre running a correct factory tire size. Those 3-speed autos do not have a direct drive so there is always some slipping. So you're actually going anywhere from 90-93mph but I'm not sure exactly what speed.

1990 sentra
I had a 1990 sentra that i used to drop into gear all the time and i cracked my cam in hafe also, my mechanic at the time told me that "thats somthings NASCAR does not 4 door nissians" any who 3 grand later i sold the car to some old guy and bought a Z
I neutral-bombed my '88 Pontiac Grand Am 4-door rally car all the time. Yes, you read that right ... RALLY CAR. The trans died after catching 71/2 feet of air off an abandoned industrial lot handicap ramp. As did the struts. And frame. And every other weak part on the car (everything, it's GM ...).
Don't know why I chipped that in ... just food for thought.

this relates more to the last post . .
i got about 7 or 8 feet of air in my old bajabug on a fire trail. . . .and the only damage was a 12 sub that ripped from its box on impact and the steering was a little off due to landing at an angle. hahahahaha. man, i had almost forgot about that one.

Or what you could do (and what I've done) is remove the reset pin on the speedo face. The needle continues around the face like a clock. I've scared friends that way ... they look over and see the speedo pointing straight down ...
Apollo, I was looking at the picture in your sig and something looks a little weird with it. How is it possible that you are going almost 120mph at only 3000rpm? Im thinking you really have an 85mph speedo with a 130mph face on it. That would put you at about 78mph right??? You almost had me fooled for a second.
Ya, I thought about that for only a second but didn't really care to look closer. You could not reach those speeds at that rpm even with your 82 5-speed (tallest 5th gear) and a 3.3 rearend. (tallest diff)
You would only be going 92 with the highest geared combo that the Z ever had available. Maybe that is killometers per hour! hahaha!

You guys don't realize, Apollo put a T56 into his car and can pull 130mph in 6th gear at 3000rpm.
Good job on the gauges dude. I told you it was easier to pull the cluster than all those other posers said it was!

hahahaha, oh yea. i was waiting to see who would spot that 1st. well after winning the lotto i thought that maybe the Z could use a little more umph, so i had a LS1 tossed in with a 6 speed tranny. i wanted it to have just a little more umph . . . .just a little
no really, it is the 80 mph speedo, jus that the 130 i had lined up wasnt available once i got ready to do the swap, so i went ahead and put the face on anyways, i have more . i made a few sets just in case i botched any of them up. i will swap for a 130 once i can locate one that works with my cruise control.
