Solid mounts
 

Good bad? ATM my diff is making that classic clunk and I was going to pull it off and put it back into the right shape then weld it solid for a quick fix. But now I'm wonder what the pros/cons are of having all mounts in the car solid ones.

Oh whats the measurements of a new diff mount so I get it in the proper shape?

Works great. Distinct whine on the freeway, but more firm. I imagine once I get my rear poly bushings in for the sway bar & make some solid cross member mounts, it's going to be a bone jarring ride. :D

lol Lest your getting most of the power to the road that way. For now I'm going to do a quick fix and weld the diff mount solid. Till I feel like getting a new one lol
I'm not totally sure what I want to do to that 2+2 but I do want it make it better then it was stock lol

Poly bushings, Mercedes 300D springs for the rear, solid diff mount, new struts, Techno Toy Tuning tension rods, strut bars.... and the thing will ride on rails (as AudioFreak says).

Nice, sounds like what I want to do, but Im not sure I want to do all this to a 2+2 or a 2 seater.

I wonder which Z handles better? 2+2 or 2+0?

I got it in high school (11 years ago) & used it for my Auto Tech & Auto Collision class projects... then just kept going. I've owned quite a few 2seaters, but ended up selling them all as they were worth more in $ to me.

Ah I see, My 2+2 is the first Z car ive ever owned really lol

Just gotta step back & ask yourself what you want out of the car. I did it for experience & will likely sell it & move on to something "bigger & better" someday... like an E39 M5 or Lotus. :D I like the Z, but I'm getting sick of working on old cars.

or a slicktop coupe.......? lol

Meh... I'm not giving up on Z cars, but I would like my sports car to be a reliable, comfortable, all weather, daily driver. An E39 M5 is just that.

lol Anyways back on topic, I'm just waiting for the car to cool down before I get it up in the air on jack stands and pull each wheel to drain out all the old brake fluid (I've never done this kinda of fluid change before) And while it drains out I'm going to take off the diff mount and start working on making it a solid mount

I have nothing else to do for weeks on end. so ya got nothing better to do unless you say sleep lol

OT, do you drain all the fluid out of the brakes, then fill it up and bleed them?

Do the rears first. Open one up, install a hose over the bleeder going into a big jar, pump, watch level in reservoir, fill before it's empty, keep pumping till it comes out clear. On the final pump you'll either need a second person or a 2x4 against the seat to hold the pedal to the floor to keep air out of the line while you tighten the bleeder.

lol... I actually drove it today & thought about making a video so you could hear it. Maybe I'll do that tomorrow.

It's quite noticeable, but not LOUD, just a distinct whine, especially on the freeway. I wouldn't do it on a daily driver....
