rust question

rust question

when i went to get my muffler on last week the dude who put it showed me a big *** hole that was rusted threw on the under body exposing the frame my question is how hard is this to fix and how do i save the frame (its rusted but not bad just some surface rust)?? please let me know asap. as i need to get this done before the frame is trash and the car isnt worth it.

Sorry, had to do it. It depends on how bad the rust is. Can you snap some pics??

You will need to sand it down until there is no more rust and you see metal (surface rust). If you sand it down and it looks like the rust has eaten a hole through the floorpan then you need to CUT IT OUT . After you cut it out you or someone will need to weld in sheetmetal then, prime and paint or some other type of selant to stop the rust from returning.

ya both floor pans are getting replaced its the frame im worried about mostly ill get some pics tommarow the rest is minor but i dont want to start into this thing only to realize that the frame is f***ked half way threw and i just blew all my money
