Running lights

My running lights don't work, the blinker's don't work(don't even show them blinking on the dash)Hazards do though, and the bulbs are good. I found the fuses to the running lights. it was blown. supposed to be a 15A, there was a 20A in it. i stuck a 30A just to see what it would do. it blew it. So a short. Anyone know where it might be?

HMMM MAYBE THE CONNECTION FROM THE HAZZARDS TO THE WIRING HARNESS. i JUST HAD THAT ISSUE WITH MINE. BLINKERS DIDN'T WORK AND SUCH. ALL I HAD TO DO WAS RE-ATTACH THE CONNECTOR UNDER THE DRIVERS FAIRING.

Hmm, mine was doing that, the 4-way button was stuck between the two different settings, i justed wiggled it back and fourth, then it worked, and replaced all five fuses i had blown. Have you been messing with anything that would of pinched it, or cut it. Other then that i'd say the plug ins above the fuses, aren't really connected all the way, probably yanked out.

OH! I think I know why, haha the first time ever that I can help someone else on this site. Mine did something similar and what it turned out to be was water in one of the side markers. I removed all the lenses, cleaned, dried everything thoroughly replaced the fuse and I was good to go. Might want to make sure that you don't have any cracked lenses anywhere that might be letting water in.

i ain't gona get into body work on the back Z. She's to gone for that. She's got to much rust and underbody damage. She won't be road worthy for much longer. I jacked it up to day to check Speedo Cable, and the frame bent in while jacking it up. I am gona be sending Bigg Blue to FL for body work. Once she's done. i am gona probly scrap the black car. but keep motor and trany. 243K miles in Mississippi humidity really does it's damage. i just need it's road worthy so i can get tags and inspection so i can drive till Bigg Blue get's done.

You can't just scrap a z like that, drive it till she's gone or let some one have a chance at her. Mine's in pretty bad shape but i'll never part with her, after i find a clean one to restore this ones going to road rallies and drag comps. Maybe both.

hey, if ANY car bends when jacked up, it's time to find safety in a more solid body and frame. too dangerous otherwise. my na slicktop has 242k orig. miles on odometer--runs gereat, does not twistoflex--will need rebuild in 40k miles--uses 1qt oil every 350 miles--no problem. but if the dude bends with lift of jack, ditch it--but have a good IRISH wake whilse so doing!!!!!!!

well. i ain't just gona crush it or nothin. I don't crush Z's. My Z is Bigg Blue. had her for a year. worked on it the whole year. and still have yet to drive it. she will be parted out to those who need the part's. down right behind the driver door, the rocker panel right before the rear tire is pretty much gone. And the two brackets that hold the rear end in are pretty much not bolted to anything, cause that is rusted away. This black Z has had it's day. and i will be driving it easy. Some one else has drove it till it's pretty much gone. I am the last for her. I won't dog it, or run it into the ground. She will go out with a easy retirement. Bigg blue is pretty solid. only rust on her is under battery, and a lil on the driver floor pan.

If you put the jack in the wrong place (Like everybody else has at least once)... You ARE GOING TO BEND THE CAR!. It would still have happened when the car was brand new. Don't go crushing it because there's a 99% chance you put the jack in the wrong place.

Rod.

Rod is correct. There are specific places on the Z that are specially reinforced for jacking. If you're off that spot by only 1" you'll bend it.

i put it right on the frame. and it's pretty beat up down there also. the mounts don't have much to mount to anymore. With a welder, and a experinced persion. she can be saved. But i am not that. I'll see how well she acts on the road. Then i'll go by that when it comes time for her to be parked.
