rear diff's used in "black gold"

i dont have my book with me, local PaP has a severly rotted Black Gold ed. 280 it HAD a decent hood and body pannels untill some jackasses ****ed it all up.

any way the drive train is still in it an i was thinkin about pulling the diff. spares you know, what diffs were in these usually and how do you get the axles off on these, they held in with pins?

The answer is within another question... is the car an auto or manual?

Are you talking about the 80 AE?

Or some easier ways would be to look up the specs in the FSM / Haynes manual, or search on ZDriver, as the diff ratio options have been discussed before. But if you feel the need to do it the hard way, I won't stop ya.

oi i musta showed enough interest in it because its all taken apart now...damnit.
and like i said before, i dont have my book its back in oregon.

so ok since it was all sorts of messed up what swaps over?
there are some late 80's toyotas there Cressida that has a finned rear diff cover, drainplug on the bottom, a supra with the same rear diff, there also a subaru with a 4.11 early 90's legacy.
